Aquinas - Supporting Pioneer
Aquinas School Attendance Provisions

Sailing Pioneer for a day on the beautiful river Colne, pupils will learn a range of skills that will enable them to grasp some of the essential skills needed when sailing on a traditional vessel. Your team will be involved in everything from rigging, trimming sails, boat manoeuvres and of course, making tea! The unique design of Pioneer means there is a job for everyone and plenty to get involved in.
Whilst on board, emphasis will be placed on having fun and learning new things along with encouragement to take on the responsibility of steering and being in charge of changing sails at the right times.
The experienced and relaxed crew on Pioneer give a friendly and supportive environment, which enables people to feel comfortable and encouraged to try something new.
There will also be a picnic lunch and a chance to explore the sea life with some dredging.

Donations however small are very much needed and will be greatly appreciated.

Aquinas' partnership with The Pioneer Sailing Trust

Aquinas are proud to be working with The Pioneer Sailing Trust. Hundreds of young people benefit from their time at Pioneer Sailing Trust each year, whether on a sailing adventure, work experience in the boat yard, or an Apprenticeship. The Trust is passionate about developing and supporting young people through education and new experiences. But, who better to show you the great work that the Trust does than BBC's Matt Baker, you can watch the Pioneer and her crew feature on BBC's Countryfile here.

Linking into a reward for pupils who have either excellent levels of attendance, significantly improved over the year or overcome a particularly difficult time in their lives, Aquinas' partner schools nominate up to 10 pupils to take part in a sailing trip abroad Pioneer.
